Fee structure

My prices are based on an hourly rate of £31.50.

Shared lessons cost £5.25 per week

Individual 20 min lessons £10.50

Individual 30 min lessons (recommended for higher grades) £15.75

So for a shared lesson, the average half term cost would be £31.50, for an individual 20 min lesson, £63.00.

As I am accredited by the music partnership, I can offer access to subsidies for some instruments. Please contact me for further details, but in general these are open to those on lower incomes, pupils with special needs and pupils who in the previous year took part in whole class instrumental learning as part of the Wider Opportunities scheme in their school.

For students starting an instrument for the first time, there is a Starter scheme to help with the cost of setting up.

Instruments

You can borrow an instrument for the first year of learning for a low cost from the Derbyshire Music hub.

If you wish to purchase an instrument at any point, please contact me and I can advise you on the best places to go. If an instrument is not suitable to learn on it can greatly detract from your child's enjoyment and progress.

Music

As your child progresses they will need different books to support their learning. I will always let you know the correct book and the best places to get it from. Second hand is always an option, as long as it's the correct edition.

Strings and repairs

Occasionally a violin will need a new string to replace a broken or worn out one. I will let you know exactly what to get and where best to get it from, and will fit for you. I can repair most minor issues, and can recommend where to go for more complex problems.
